Being Baptized
The Bible says that we are good as dead in our sin, yet Jesus Christ came to give us life. In order to experience this new life in Christ our dead sinful selves first need to be buried. Baptism is a type of burial as we're buried under the water.
Baptism also reminds us of how Jesus died and was buried. At baptism we become united with Jesus Christ's death and burial as we are buried under the water. However, just as Christ rose to life from the dead, we also are raised up out of the water to live a new life. |
